Northland’s regional 2022 economic growth was running at 4.7% with 23,241 business units* – that’s a lot of business owners that need support and Warwick Taylor who runs The Alternative Board in Northland knows more than most what they need.

He’s lived in Northland all his life, understands the community and its culture, and firmly believes local business owners hold the key to regional success. A highly experienced businessperson, Warwick sold his award-winning company Waste Works Ltd in 2009, moving on to a variety of Senior Leadership roles with Northland Businesses and is acknowledged as a talented, innovative business leader with many awards to his name, like the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the year finalist.

Warwick is determined to help Northland’s business succeed and thrive. He said: “Northland has its share of economic challenges which have been heightened thanks to COVID19 and the aftereffects. We will overcome these, we run on an oily rag at the best of times and treated like the poor cousin of Auckland, however Innovation and sheer hard mahi are the hallmarks of Northland businesses and people, and with the right support, advice and resources we will grow, and The Alternative Board is the right place for them to find that support to prosper.” “I have done it, and still doing it successfully, so let’s talk”.

Outside work, Warwick’s passion for sports will see you find him playing golf, fishing, watching rugby and being a proud sponsor of the Northland Taniwha.
